Hi, I’m Mistie—founder, formulator, and hands-in-the-dirt mama behind Rock Creek Sundries.

I’m a stay-at-home, homeschoolin’ mama with a love for handmade things, homegrown medicine, and the quiet kind of wisdom you find in old books and older ways.

Rock Creek Sundries began at my kitchen table, with beeswax on the stove, herbs from the yard, and kids underfoot asking what I was making this time. I never planned to start a business—I just wanted better, safer things for my family. One balm led to another, one candle turned into ten, and eventually I realized… maybe I wasn’t the only one who wanted these things.

What I Believe

I believe in things that last. In products made with purpose and plants. In respecting our bodies and the land we live on. We need to slow down long enough to listen—to our intuition, our children, and the God who made it all. I believe that homemade isn’t second-rate, it is often better quality that anything you will find in a commercial store. Less is more, all of those ingredients in the store-bought items, are unnecessary and probably toxic too. Herbs are gifts from God. He created them for a purpose, let’s find that purpose and use it.

Rock Creek Sundries is part apothecary, part old-school pantry, and part rebellion against a throwaway culture.

  • Vintage-style printables and educational tools to help you reclaim your home and health.
  • Handmade Jewelry.
  • Possibly moccasins (I started making earthing shoes).
  • And a whole lot of heart behind everything I create.

 

A Bit More About Me

 

I was born and raised in the Sierra foothills of California, surrounded by trees, chickens and kids with wild imaginations. I have a passion for cemeteries, history, ancient architecture and camping. I am a tree hugger, because, how could you not hug a giant redwood? My husband Ryan and I run a small artisans coatings business. I am also a woman of faith, a lover of liberty and a firm believer that we are meant to live in the truth, not convenience.
